About LU.Chronicles

The Independent Student-Run Daily of the University of Lucknow

What We Publish

LU.Chronicles is the independent, student-run daily of the University of Lucknow, and India’s first university newspaper led entirely by students. It publishes reportage, essays, and opinion pieces across a range of sections, including News, Opinion, Arts & Culture, Campus Affairs, Politics, Society, and Business.

Our publication aims to inform, engage, and challenge, documenting the shifting landscape of student life, academic inquiry, and the broader world beyond the university gates.

LU.Chronicles is published digitally, with new stories and editorials released daily, and special thematic issues published monthly.

Chronicle of the Chronicles

Founded in 2025 by the Literary Society of the University of Lucknow — LU.LitCore, LU.Chronicles began as an experiment in student journalism, a response to the need for a thoughtful, independent voice within the university. What started as a modest editorial effort has since evolved into a collaborative newsroom representing writers, reporters, and editors from across disciplines and perspectives.

As the first student-run daily of its kind in India, LU.Chronicles stands at the intersection of literature, journalism, and civic engagement — committed to clarity over noise, integrity over performance, and storytelling that informs as much as it endures.

Our Mission and Ethics

As the official student daily of the University of Lucknow, LU.Chronicles is guided by three core principles: integrity, inquiry, and imagination.

We believe in journalism that:

  • Reports with accuracy, fairness, and context
  • Encourages diverse and underrepresented voices
  • Distinguishes between news and opinion with clarity
  • Holds power and institutions accountable
  • Corrects errors promptly and transparently
  • Respects the dignity and privacy of sources and subjects
  • Maintains independence from political, commercial, or institutional influence

Our team adheres to the highest standards of ethical journalism, drawing from the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics and adapting it to the academic and cultural context of India.

We recognize that student journalism is not merely a training ground, but a vital part of public discourse — a space where ideas, critique, and conversation coexist.

“Comping” the Chronicles

LU.Chronicles welcomes students from every discipline across the University of Lucknow and its affiliated colleges. Whether your calling is in writing, editing, design, photography, social media, or research, there’s a corner for you in our newsroom.

Not ready to commit full-time? Pitch a piece, pen a column, or pass along a story tip — we’re always listening.
