May God Help LU Students

As we move to the next month, June. Let me take you back to the month called May which just ended a day ago.

But May for Lucknow University was like a season of plot twists no one had asked for.

You name it and that issue has happened in the month of may.

The examination schedule has given tough competition to the weather. It was proof that the only thing changing faster than the weather was the examination schedule.

It was a month in which students prepared for exams, while the university prepared new versions of the exam schedule.

You check your phone and you see how so many mismanagement happened throughout the month one by one.

Notices got changed again and again.

You saw it.

Well good for you.

But if you did not, then May God have helped you.

The major news this month was around an assistant professor in the Zoology Department, Dr. Paramjeet Singh who allegedly harassed a female student. A call recording between them went viral where he was calling the student “darling”, asking her to meet him privately, suggesting he had access to examination papers, and allegedly offering academic favors.

He was detained and arrested around 16 May 2026 after the FIR was registered and later the university suspended him.

And as of 1 June 2026, there is no publicly available data confirming any update that can clarify his current custodial or legal status, while both the police and university inquiries remain ongoing.

But is it really that easy for a single faculty member to get access to “Examination Papers”.

And if it is, how many others within the system may possess similar access without adequate checks and safeguards?

And it is not the only issue around exams that has happened.

Around 7 May 2026, BA 4th Semester students complained that they were given the “Western Philosophy” paper while many students believed the scheduled examination was supposed to be “Western Ethical Philosophy.”

University administrations denied any fault from their side and stated that it was students who failed to notice the updated version of the exam schedule which has been uploaded on the website.

Ofcourse, how can it be their fault.

Ask them to admit a mistake once, and they’ll give you a million reasons why it wasn’t a mistake to begin with.

They want us to check their website daily.

Every hour and every single damn minute to see if their schedule again got changed or is it still the same instead of preparing for our exam.

Let’s not even talk about how crucial examinations are for students, because apparently keeping track of the latest notice is now part of the assessment process.

And if you haven’t checked it yet, then you should have FOMO.

Because you can receive a whole another paper during the exam.

And when we are on this topic, how can we not talk about universities’ notice systems. It does deserve a special recognition for how worse it is, and how more in future it could be.

It’s like every time you open the schedule and it be like “Kuynnn Chauk gye naaaa!!!!”.

We can make a Faaaahhhhhhhh reel out of it because of the number of times they changed schedules this month.

If somehow you gave all the exams and you think you got saved.

NO, NO, NO dear.

Come back to reality.

The exam papers checking isn’t over yet and you didn’t get your result yet.

You can always expect unexpected things to happen in your result.

Because here they don’t only change the exam schedules.

They have the power to magically disappear you from the exam on your result.

Yes, you heard right.

In LU even if you have given the exam you’ll be marked absent on your result.

And now awaits you the next coming month of running here and there with your application. ALL THE BEST.

Around 21 May 2026, LLB 1st Semester students protested after results were declared.

Very Well, you can guess the region.

Students were marked failed.

YES not absent this time.

Not Absent,

But FAILED.

They straightly failed you.

Some students even received single-digit marks. I told you to always expect the unexpected.

Evaluation was allegedly done using the old marking format.

They always do the same things.

Whether you ask them to deliver a notice or evaluate your answer sheet.

Their way is the same.

And guess what?

Yes, you’re right.

The old way.

They love that.

It’s their favourite.

Results were declared, withdrawn, and then reissued.
